Privacy policy
Last updated: July 10, 2026
Your data stays on your device.
PickMyUsual is local-first. The restaurants you save, your visit history, and your household preferences are stored on your device using Apple's on-device storage. There is no PickMyUsual account, no PickMyUsual server, and no sync in this version of the app. We do not see your restaurant list, notes, visit history, or household preferences.
Restaurant search
When you search for a restaurant to add, your search query and approximate location may be sent to Apple's MapKit service to find nearby places and autofill details such as address and phone number. That lookup is handled by Apple and governed by Apple's own privacy policy. PickMyUsual does not operate restaurant-search servers of its own.
Location
If you allow location access, PickMyUsual uses it only to find restaurants near you when searching and to show your position on the Library map. Your location is not stored, logged, sold, or shared by PickMyUsual.
Notifications
Visit-reminder notifications are scheduled on your device based on your own visit history. Notification content and scheduling data do not leave your phone.
Exporting or importing data
The Export and Import tools in Settings let you save your restaurants and visits to a file, or bring them in from one. That file is created or read only when you choose to do so. It leaves your device only if you share it yourself, for example through AirDrop, Mail, or Files.
No tracking, ads, or selling data
PickMyUsual does not include analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking. We do not collect, sell, or share your app data with anyone, because the app is designed not to collect it in the first place.
Deleting your data
You can permanently delete your PickMyUsual data at any time using Clear All Data in Settings. Uninstalling the app also removes locally stored app data from your device.
